Review
American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card is a credit card which you can use for cash back. We have introduced another cash back card of American Express recently. You can get more information on Cash Magnet Card in our page and you can also review it. We will mention about preferred card on this page and differences between Blue Cash Preferred and Cash Magnet Cards.
6% Cashback on Supermarket & 3% Cashback on Gas Purchases
You will earn 6% cashback on supermarket purchases with the card. It is limited with $6000 per year. So you will able to earn $360 cash back in a year for your regular purchases on supermarkets. This is a good opportunity if you do purchase supermarkets very often. There is also 3% cashback for gas and it is unlimited. You will earn 1% cashback for all other purchases. This is good opportunity for those who wants to have high cashback for gas & supermarket purchases.
You can redeem cashbacks as statement credits.
$95 Annual Fee
You need to pay about $95 annually to use this card. There is also no introductory period for annual fee. Other fees are similar with Cash Magnet card. You need to pay $5 or 3% for balance transfer and cash advance. You need to pay 2.7% for foreign transaction.
12 Months No APR
You will not pay for APR for 12 months after you received your card. This is valid for purchases and balance transfers. After a year later, you will need to pay 15.24% to 26.24% APR for purchases and balance transfers. 27.49 is for cash advances.
Bonuses
There is $250 cash back after you spend $1000. You can redeem it in the form of statement credit. This very good opportunity for those who are looking for good bonus with less purchase amount. However we believe that a card with this rate should have much better bonuses. When we compare it with equal credit cards, there are some better bonus options at alternatives.
Thoughts
The card can be very beneficial for consumers who focused on supermarket and gas purchases on their cards. 3% cash back for gas is a good opportunity while there is also amazing 6% cash back for supermarket purchases. If your purchases are generally based on these categories, you will want to have this card. APR rates and no APR for 12 months are also very beneficial. You will also gain 1% cash back for all your other purchases with American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card.
