Discover Secured Card

Discover Secured Card

Review

Discover Secured Card is one of the rare secured credit cards which is providing cashback and bonuses to their consumers. Despite high-interest rates this card is providing a good amount of bonus for gas and restaurant purchases. This is limited though. You can find our review for each feature of the Discover Secured Card below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us.

Discover Secured Card APR & Fees

Interest rates of the card is a little bit high. However, we believe that it is because of rewards and cashback match features of the card. Purchase APR is 25.24% on Discover Secured Card. Cash Advance APR is 27.24%. Both interest rates are high. However there is an introductory period on Balance Transfer for 14 months. This can help you to save lots of money if you are going to transfer. It is 10.99% in introductory period. The regular balance transfer fee is high as well with 25.24% rate.

Discover it hasn’t make any statement for foreign transactions. So it is unknown how much you will need to pay for this feature. You will need to contact Discover it before applying for the card.

One of upsides of the card is that it doesn’t require you to pay annual fee.

Balance Transfer Fee is reasonable but Cash Advance Fee is high with minimum $10 and maximum 5% rates. These fees can be more than interest rates at times. So you need to think about them twice.

Discover Secured Card Bonuses & Rewards

There is 2% limited bonus for gas and restaurant purchases. The limit is $1000 in three months. You can earn 1% cash back to all other purchases with this card. This is a unique feature for this card because secured cards are not generally include rewards and bonuses.

The best part of this card is bonus. You will earn cashback match at the end of the year. It means if you collect 12100 bonus in a year, you will be rewarded with 12100 bonus.

Thoughts

There are three important features of this card that you will hardly see on other secured cards…

1-) No annual fee.

2-) Bonus.

3-) Cash back.

Despite of this good features, the card is still considerable because of high interest rates though.

Discover It Chrome

Review

Discover It Chrome Card is a credit card which provides cash back to consumers. The card is generally focused on gas and restaurant purchases. There is not any sign up bonus of the card but you can double your cash back earnings with your card at the end of the year. You can see our detailed review for Discover It Chrome Card below.

Discover It Chrome Card APR & Fees

There is 0% introductory APR period for purchases and balance transfers. It is for 14 months and it is a good opportunity for consumers. Regular APR for purchase and balance are not bad at all. However Cash Advance Rate and Fee are high.

The credit card company Discover it didn’t make any statement about foreign transaction fees. If you purchase too much abroad, we recommend you to ask it to company.

There is no annual fee of the card and this is very good. Balance transfer fee is already at very good rates for now.

Discover It Chrome Card Bonuses & Rewards

You can find all APR rates at the rates & fees table below… Discover It Chrome Card is providing good amount of cash back for gas and restaurant. However this feature of the card is still questionable because there is a $1000 limit in each quarters of the year. It means you can get maximum $20 cash backs from gas and restaurant in 3 months from this promotion. This is quite low. When you reach the limit, your cash back rate is going to be 1%.

The card also provides 1% unlimited cash back to consumers for all purchases.

Thoughts

Limited cash back for 2% is a little bit annoying. Cash Advance Fee and APR values are high. If you are looking for a card in gas or restaurant categories, you can find many good alternatives. However if you are student and if you want to get student version of this card, it is very beneficial for you. You can see our review for the student version.

Discover Travel Card

Review

Discover Travel Card is a card which consumers can earn miles.  If you want to have a travel card, this can be an option for you. Besides you can double up your total miles rewards at the end of the year with this card. You can see our review for each features of this card below.

Discover Travel Card Interest Rates & Fees

There is introductory APR period for Purchases and Balance Transfers on Discover Travel Card. Introductory APR for the card is 0% rate for 14 months. For balance transfers, it is 10.99% for 14 months. We believe balance transfers intro APR should be same with purchase (0%).

The regular APR is not bad. It is 14.24% – 25.24% for Purchase and Balance Transfers. However Cash Advance rate is 27.24% and this is much.

There is no annual fee for the card. Cash Advance fee is high with 5% maximum rate and $10 minimum fee but Balance Transfer fee is very good.

Rewards and Bonuses

There is no sign up bonus with Discover Travel Card. However you will able to get miles match at the end of the year. It is one time offer and you will able to get your miles match bonuses 12 months later. How much miles you earned in a year? 20000? So you will get 20000 miles… 12 month is a long period though.

1.5 miles per $1 purchase is an average miles reward. You can find much better option than it.

Thoughts

We believe that Discover Travel Card can worth it if you can get low APR with it. However as we have already mentioned above, you can get bonus match miles in 12 months. It is very long time. We believe that the company should be more generous for current balance transfer APR.

You can see rates and fees of this card below. There is also user reviews and editor scores.

Discover It Cash Back

Discover It Cash Back Card

Review

Discover it is a cash back which provides 5% cash back to you for different purchase categories in each quarter of the year. These categories are just limited with Grocery, Gas Stations, Uber & Lyft, Restaurants and Amazon.com at the moment. If situation changes, we are going to update this review page. You can find a detailed review for Discover It Cash Back Card below. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Discover It Cash Back Interest Rates

14 months introductory APR is a good opportunity. Introductory APR is helping people to save a lot. Sometimes it can be more effective than rewards and cash backs. Let’s see calculate how much you can save in introductory APR period.

For Minimum APR: 14.24%

Monthly Purchases: $1200

Savings from Intro APR: $196 in 14 months

Maximum APR: 25.24%

Monthly Purchases: $1200

Monthly Payments: $1200

Savings from Intro APR: $350 in 14 months

We believe that maximum APR of the card is not bad and minimum APR is very good. However Cash Advance interest rates high.

Discover It Cash Back Rewards, Bonuses & Fees

5% cash back is good amount. However this depends on your purchases at all. For example grocery is a good opportunity for every consumers. However I don’t think other options are good enough. Why? Personally I have no business with Amazon.com, Gas Stations and Uber & Lyft. Besides I don’t visit restaurants very often. You should calculate your annually purchases well and decide to get/use the card or not. If this card is going to be beneficial for you just 3 months, it won’t worth it at all.

You are going to earn 1% for all purchases other than bonus category in a quarter.

There is not any sign up bonuses on Discover It Cash Back.

The foreign transaction fee of the card is unknown since there is not any statement about this fee from the company. We recommend you to call Discover It to learn rates of foreign transaction fee. It is important for you if you are purchasing from abroad very often.

Balance Transfer fee is 3% and this is very good. However cash advance fee is 5% and this is very high. $10 for minimum cash advance fee is also high too.

You will not pay any annual fee for Discover It Cash Back card.

Thoughts

This card can be profitable for you if your purchases are are regular on Grocery, Gas Stations, Uber & Lyft, Restaurants and Amazon.com or 3 purchase categories. Otherwise it won’t worth to get this card.
